The Gezhouba Xili Cement Plant, located in Kyzylorda Province in southwestern Kazakhstan, is one of the first key projects of China-Kazakhstan capacity cooperation. In April 2017, the Xili Cement Plant project officially started construction, and was put into trial production in May 2019. The completion and commissioning ceremony was held in October of the same year, setting a record for the fastest construction of similar projects in Kazakhstan. The blue and white factory buildings, winding pipelines, and towering preheaters make the Xili Cement Plant a local landmark industrial building. Since the project started, it has created more than 220 direct jobs for the local people in Kazakhstan, indirectly driven the employment of more than 400 people, and effectively promoted the development of surrounding transportation, service and other industries.
